Night Treatment Assistants for HVB Almen

Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

The Social Administration of Stockholm City has an overarching and coordinating role for social services' individual and family care and the area of disabilities. Here, good conditions are created to meet residents in need of social services support. In close collaboration with the district administrations, we contribute to a modern, digital, legally secure, equal, and knowledge-based social service, and we have a strong focus on development. Within the administration, a wide range of support measures are offered to the city's residents, and the offerings change based on the needs of Stockholmers and the wishes of the district administrations. The work often occurs in close cooperation with other authorities, civil society, and the business community. The Social Administration is also responsible for the city's serving and tobacco licenses and conducts supervision.

Welcome to us!

Are you driven by creating a positive and lasting change in the lives of young people? Do you want to help create a safe and caring environment for our placed youth? We are now looking for night treatment assistants who want to be part of the development and startup of HVB Almen.

Stockholm City's HVB Almen opened in August 2025 and is located on Djurgården. The facility offers eight places for boys aged 13–15 who are placed under SoL (Social Services Act) or LVU (Act with Special Provisions on the Care of Young People).

The target group is boys with emerging substance abuse, emerging criminality, non-aggressive norm-breaking behavior, acting-out behavior, other socially norm-breaking or destructive behavior, care deficiencies, and other psychosocial issues.

The workgroup consists of social workers, night treatment assistants, administrative assistants, unit managers, and group leaders.

We Offer

The facility is under construction, and there are great opportunities for you to be involved in the development together with engaged and motivated colleagues.

As an employee within the Social Administration, you will also be offered an informative introduction to give you the best conditions in your new role, flexible working hours, wellness benefits, and vacation exchange. Read more about our benefits here.

Your Role

As a treatment assistant, you work together with another treatment assistant at night based on a rotating schedule. At HVB Almen, you and your colleagues are awake during the night. Together, you are responsible for creating a safe and caring environment for the placed youth. This means you are responsible for following the individual implementation plans and carrying out the decided activities. The work also involves documenting what happens during the night related to the youth and creating pleasant and inviting premises through practical tasks such as cleaning, preparing the rooms, and more.

You are also responsible for creating conditions for the youth to safely follow evening and night routines when it is time to sleep and being available to offer conversation support when needed. You keep yourself informed about the occupancy of the residence and available places and report back to the colleague who takes over after each completed shift. You have the support of a supervisor available by phone at night.

Your Experience and Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • completed vocational college education of 400 YH points (equivalent to two years of study) with a focus on social pedagogy/treatment pedagogy or another relevant focus for the position. Or completed academic education with a focus on social work, behavioral science, or a similar focus.
  • current experience working in similar operations with 24/7 care
  • good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form

It is an advantage if you have:

  • current experience working with youth
  • experience documenting according to applicable regulations and guidelines.

To succeed in your role with us, it is crucial that you have excellent collaboration skills. You relate to others in a responsive manner and enjoy collaborating with other professionals, always keeping the client in focus. You have a strong empathetic ability, and it comes naturally to you to build trust and good relationships with people, especially youth. Since the work also involves meeting young people in difficult life situations, it is important that you can see opportunities, convey hope, and meet the youth in a respectful manner. You are stable and professional in your approach and have the ability to maintain a realistic perspective on situations that may arise.

We place great importance on your personal qualities, motivation, and commitment to the position.

Your Application

We recruit without a personal letter in this recruitment to strengthen the focus on the competencies and experiences required for this role. In assessing your application, we will only consider your CV and a number of questions you will need to answer when applying for the position. We ask that you respond concretely and briefly to the questions.

Before an employment contract is signed, you must present an extract from the criminal record. In the event of a second job interview, you should bring this extract to the meeting.

During the holiday period, you can reach us most easily via email. Stockholm City works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competencies and thus counteracting discrimination.
